True. I like how Engelland is holding the fort. He's pretty good so far considering he's a D playing in Calgary. |

Would you trade Martin (if he wanted to spend a few days in the sun) to Florida for a signed Jokinen for the next 4 years @ $4M?
Fleischmann, T. » $4,500,000 UFA
Jokinen, Jussi » $4,000,000 $4,000,000 $4,000,000 $4,000,000
Kopecky, Tomas » $3,000,000 UFA
Bergenheim, Sean » $2,750,000 UFA
Boyes, Brad » $2,625,000 $2,625,000
I like Fleischmann, Bergenheim and Kopecky too... |

Comeau has really impressed this year but should he really be in the top 6? Is the plan to keep him there when Bennett gets back since Johnston wants him with Sutter?

Saw an article about Jimmy Deals and when he makes his moves. Historically, GMJR made a lot of trades around November - January time period. As a financial investment representative, I know past results do not indicate the future ....but food for thought. |

He's showing nothing but good/physical play so far. He's got some talent and is not a liability on the ice. No reason we can't keep him there...of course we'd like to see more of Bennett as a top 6.
Remember Dupuis was nothing more than a 3rd liner......can't see why Comeau can't elevate his game, as he already has done so far. |

Good read. You are way off base on Quick though. As a Kings fan I have seen a lot of mediocre to terrible goaltending. I know you can make a case with stats to make a point that Quick is a beneficiary of the teams defense and style of play. Ask any reporter who covers this team for a full season. Ask any die hard fan. No one will agree with your assertion that Quick is not elite. Team USA management will not agree with your assertion that Quick is not elite. He should have won the Vezina in 2012 and is having a terrific start to this season with 2 shutouts both of the 40 save variety.
He recently became the franchise leader in shutouts with 33 career. He is also the Franchise leader in wins. |

Really don't think Martin will go to FLA....but even so, I wouldnt trade him for Jokinen. I think nostalgia can be your worst enemy and I think its too long of term and too much money (will be 35 at the end of contract). He was very serviceable in his time here....but he is streaky and we should look for better options, imo. |

I see your point and I agree about his play so far. But "not a liability" is a poor way to evaluate linemates for one of the best players in the world, imo. |

Bennett should be there IMO. You should put your best combo's together and a Dupuis/Geno/Beau line is just better.
Comeau though, has been very good for his salary. He should be the third line right wing and push Downie down to the 4th, unless he can play left wing as well then Spaling goes down with Goc. |

Just saw that. Those WBS guys with speed typically do well for a few games on recall, then fall back to earth. |

I'd take Jussi if he was at 3 mil a year, or consider it at 3 to 2.5 mil on the last 2 years with 4 on the front two.

Yeah, 4 x $4 mil is too much for Jussi. Surprised that he hasn't scored, but as streaky as he is, he could get 5 in a week. |

Yeah, I would have to agree with you here. Also, Quick makes the simple save and makes saves on a nightly basis that turns momentum in the Kings favor. Reach a bit for this comparison. |

Synergy isn't instant on teams, and, he might be in a bit of a slight off playing due to having been with Malkin. Not too many who can set up like he does |

Hmmm. I believe the Pens will have to make a corresponding Cap move to fit him into the roster. Anyone see anything about a player being sent down?
Are Harrington & Ebbett still at the NHL level?
EDIT: W/ out Ebbett and Harrington & Bennet on IR. Is this correct?

Maybe this is a completely hypothetical question on your part, but there is no way Florida is on Martin's 15 team list or whatever it is he has (I believe he has something like this). And even still, no thanks to any of those guys. |

Harrington and Ebbett were sent down before the Nashville game, so they have the room for Megna.
Kind of surprised they recalled him if everyone is healthy... Why not stick with the 21 man roster and save some money until they go on the road trip? |
